Meet Katie
A Virginia girl at heart, but Charleston transplant since 2011 - Katie originally moved to the area to begin her initial career as an acute care Speech-Pathologist. Working primarily in adult neurological rehabilitation, her spark for the human body, what it can endure, and would it can overcome took off. An avid runner at the time, she began seeking alternative forms of fitness that proved to be easier for joint recovery and protection - which is when she stubbled upon Reformer Pilates and one could say “the rest is history!”.
Katie was hooked after her first class and within a year she completed her Reformer Pilates Certification and began teaching under the mentorship of Exhale’s previous owner - Lauren. After teaching for almost four years, the opportunity of a lifetime came up and she was able to take over the ownership of Exhale in early 2022. Continuing her passion for anatomy and movement - she was able to shift her focus from rehab, to preventative practice and wellness by leading people through strong, integrated sequences on the Reformer. Her love for the practice and the Exhale community has only grown stronger and she proudly continues to lead the Exhale Team and both studio locations.
Mom of two active little boys- when Katie isn’t teaching, behind the scenes on the computer, or taking class, she enjoys nothing more than chasing after these two.
